Each prayer is designed to seek God’s purposes and power for our church family.

WEEK 21 PRAYER: Keeping in Step with the Spirit

"Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit."

Galatians 5:25

Let’s Pray Together:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit as a deposit in my heart, confirming that through Jesus, I have been adopted into Your family. Thank You for the ministry of the Holy Spirit in my heart and life and the lives of those in my church community.

Give us, I pray, a willingness of heart to submit to the leading and promptings of the Holy Spirit as He guides us into deeper truth. May we not resist the Holy Spirit in any way or ignore or make excuses for sin in our lives. Forgive us for going our own way, for doing our own thing, for shutting our ears to Your voice. In Your kindness, draw us to repentance. (Pause and pray for The Star of Hope, that the work of the Holy Spirit will increase in each life, producing holiness. Ask God to give The Star of Hope the gift of

repentance.)

Teach us, I pray, what it means to “walk in the Spirit” and “keep in step with the Spirit” in our everyday, moment-by-moment living, that we would increasingly be those who do not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Father, I ask in the mighty name of Jesus that the passions of our sinful natures be put to death so that the fruit of the Spirit might increase in out lives.

May love and joy be expressed with increasing measure among us. May we truly love what You love, Father, and be filled with the joy of our salvation!

May the peace of Christ expressed through the unity of the Spirit, and enduring patience with one another, be evident in our relationships.

May genuine acts and words of kindness and goodness increase in our fellowship. May we consider one another’s needs and more important that in our own.

May faithfulness and gentleness in our relationships with one another be evident at all times.

May we embrace a lifestyle of denying ourselves and taking up our crosses and following You, Lord Jesus, choosing to be self-controlled in all things.

(Pause and pray for The Star of Hope Community, asking that the fruit of the Spirit might be increasingly seen in your life and the lives of your brothers and sisters.)

Lord Jesus, this day I confess that apart from You, I can do nothing. My brothers and sisters can do nothing. And so I ask, strengthen us to abide in You. Call us continually to “vine and branch” living, connected to You in all things at all times. Do this, I pray, that we might produce the fruit of the Spirit in our lives and walk as children of the light. In Your mighty name, I pray these things. Amen.
